Embrace
I gave up making New Years resolutions years ago, while the initial list was great they were ultimately too big and vague and truthfully not helpful. I decided to take the approach of picking a word of the year instead which has been so much more helpful. Each word from the past year still stands in the forefront of my mind most days too so instead of selecting a new word I see it more like adding another thing I want to focus on. I’m going in to 2024 still working on patience and compromise all with a heavy heart of gratitude and will be layering in EMBRACE.
EMBRACE this season of life and the list of responsibilities it comes with.
EMBRACE the mess, the chaos, the noise.
EMBRACE the hard, the bad, the ugly, the frustrating.
EMBRACE the good, the sweet, the laughter, the glimmers.
EMBRACE the big heavy emotions both mine and those of my children.
EMBRACE a strict family budget and financial compromise this year for better years ahead.
EMBRACE the monotony of my job for the reminder of the flexibility it provides our family.
EMBRACE that the to do list will always be greater than the hours on the clock.
EMBRACE that I can’t do it all but I can still try.
EMBRACE that everything has its time and place and all works out the way it’s suppose to eventually.
EMBRACE the moments. The big ones and the little tiny ones I know I cant get back.
And lastly EMBRACE my family. Physically hug and hold them more often and until they let go.
